My name is James Wittenborg. For the past several decades, the writing I was most involved with dealt with technical documents in the space industry. Instead of interesting characters portrayed as heroes and villains, the subjects I wrote most about were pieces of space hardware, how it was to be used, and what we expected it to accomplish.

Over the years, beginning in grade school, I found that my imagination required an outlet. I wrote the occasional poem and short story for no one in particular, stowing them away in folders deep in my attic. There, they languished, never to see the light of day.

Then, one day and totally unprovoked, a concept bordering on fantasy popped into my head – what would be like to be able to go back in time and witness events that, to this day, are still in dispute? And what would one do with that information?
