Book One In
The Dream Traveler Series

Ryan Field, an engineer and devout family man, wakes up one morning from a disturbing dream in which he had witnessed the abduction of a child. His wife sits at the kitchen table reading the morning paper, horrified by a story of a kidnapped little girl on the other side of town. There were no witnesses, and the police have no leads. Later that day, Ryan drives by the home on the other side of town where the abduction took place. Everything is as it appeared in his dream, except Ryan can clearly recall details of the kidnapper and the vehicle, right down to the license plate number. His anonymous tip to a police sergeant in town helps solve the crime. In the following weeks more anonymous tips to the same officer result in additional unsolved crimes being solved. FBI Agent Mike McShea takes notice of the flurry of crimes solved by this one particular small-town officer, which eventually leads him to Ryan Field. Agent McShea has his own plans for Ryan - and they don’t include solving crimes.

I received a free copy of this book from my book club, as he is a local author. However, I am writing this review for free. No compensation was given or offered for my review of this book.

I love the basic premise of the story. It does involve having the "gift of insight," so be prepared to keep an open mind. The foundation was solidly built and the characters were entertaining. It does have that "what happens next" vibe that makes you want to keep reading.

It will be very very interesting to see the direction this series takes as there is definitely infinite potential.

I do believe Mr. Wittenborg's first attempt at writing is a smash hit, at least with me. Well done, sir!!  ~Barbara

I really enjoyed this book! It was a really clever story and had me wanting to constantly keep reading. I’m really looking forward to what is to come from this new author! It was a very quick read…I do wish the chapters were longer!  ~BachPrime

I will try not to list any spoilers!

The book centers on dreams, psychic ability, ESP, or whatever you want to call it. He’s able to dream/direct his dreams to a certain event and can “see” what happened. He was able to solve some crimes, answer a historical question, yet get sidelined by someone he shouldn’t have trusted. The ending did surprise me but it also left me with a few questions, mainly, where did this power come from? (He wasn’t born with it. He just woke up one day with this ability.) It makes me wonder if this is a set up for a series of books instead of a standalone book.

The author describes the characters so well, builds up the backstory with lots of detail, that you can’t help be drawn into the story. You feel like you’re right there! There are a few twists so you’re kept in suspense.

Overall, it’s a great story with an interesting premise! I highly recommend this book.  ~BYLVT

I liked the plot and found it to be interesting and not quite like anything I have read. Just when i thought i had it figured out, it took a twist. I read a lot and this genre is what I am interested in. I also liked some of the clever phrasing, without being cliche’. I am looking forward to a possible sequel!
